La Pirogue

As you approach La Pirogue you will discover a charming resort that resembles a traditional Mauritian fishing village. Fringed by majestic coconut palms and bright hibiscus, the 35 acres of tropical gardens front a white sand beach, which is protected by a coral reef. La Pirogue is situated near the village of Flic en Flac and is a mere 25 minutes from Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius. You will be greeted by the friendliest personnel from the moment that you arrive in what seems to be paradise – you have reached La Pirogue. Welcome.

Accommodation and Cuisine:

The bougainvillea-clad cottage-style accommodation is the epitome of charm and romance and creates an atmosphere of leisure. The guestrooms, which have all been recently renovated, are at ground level. The rooms open onto a turquoise sea which is enhanced by the presence of volcanic rock, wood, thatch and the magnificent colours of coral.

The deluxe guestrooms are perfectly positioned near the sea. 
Dining at La Pirogue is a divine treat for the senses. You may choose dine at the thatches – the mainIn keeping with the island’s fishing town theme, the Paul & Virginie Restaurant is located by the boathouse and serves fresh seafood. For a light meal you may snack at Citronella’s Café, situated next to the ocean, or take your evening meal here for a true treat to Mediterranean delights. The Blue Bar serves funky cocktails and cool refreshments throughout the day.

Activities:

With an array of complimentary land- and water sport activities on offer, you will never have a dull moment at La Pirogue. Couples can learn new activities together in the safe hands of experienced instructors. The ocean beckons you to partake in its exciting activities such as parasailing across the lagoon, or waterskiing, snorkelling and discovering the oceans magic underwater world. Complimentary water sports include: Glass-bottomed boat rides, kayaking, laser sailing, paddle boating, snorkelling, waterskiing, windsurfing, hobie cats (excluding Sugar Beach Resort and La Pirogue), sailing, canoeing, aquagym, and water polo.

Available at an additional cost: Big banana rides, tube rides, sunset cruises, big-game fishing, parasailing, undersea walks. Mauritius is a diver’s paradise and caters for both beginners and experienced divers. All resorts are PADI-certified with qualified and experienced instructors offering PADI open water courses and general tutoring every day. For the avid diver there is the ‘Superscuba’ diving package, which gives you discounted dives payable in Rands before you depart on honeymoon.

If you want to try your hand at land sports (with or without the aid of the helpful Games Team), you are invited to partake in tennis, aerobics, basket polo, beach cricket, bocciball, croquet, frisbee, giant chess, horse riding, jogging, mini football, mini golf, mountain biking, putting green, soccer, table tennis, volleyball, volley polo, six-a-side soccer, surfvision, baseball, basketball, hockey on grass, kite-flying, rollerblading, mini-tennis, drafts, and golf clinics.
